Sewing Machine Maintenance

Did you know you should clean and oil your sewing machine regularly? Most of us learn the hard way that skipping cleaning can quickly turn your sewing machine into your enemy instead of your sewing partner. This workshop focuses on keeping your machine happy between it's annual check ups. 

What you'll be doing

• Learn when and how to clean and your machine.
• Basic tension troubleshooting.
• How to know when it's time for a professional to step in.

• Sewing machine with foot pedal and cord and manual if available (most manuals can be downloaded if yours is missing)
• Tools that might have come with your sewing machine to remove screws or change your needle
• Cleaning tools: Tweezers, cotton swabs, machine cleaning brushes, small towel to put under machine to catch any dust or oil
• Machine oil - check your manual to find out if your machine needs to be oiled and what they recommend. Some machines come with a little bottle. We have machine oil at the shop if needed.

Cancellations: We kindly ask that students give a minimum 72 hours notice of cancellation or rescheduling needs. This advance notice will allow us to make any necessary adjustments to our schedule and accommodate other makers.

Refunds: Class cancellations made with a 72 hour notice or more will either receive a full refund on a gift card, or a full refund minus the $5 card processing fee to the card that was used to purchase the class registration. This fee accounts for the costs associated with the transaction and ensures a smooth and secure refund process.
