Through 3 beginner-friendly projects — drawstring pouch, zipper pound and a pillowcase with fancy french seam. We will lay a foundation of sewing knowledge that will allow you to take on more complex projects or to take more classes in the shop.
-
Sets you up with skills that will be equally applicable to quilting, garment sewing, or just about any other type of sewing!
-
You are welcome to bring your own machine if you have one, but we have machines you can borrow
-
Includes free studio time to work on your projects outside of class
What do you bring?:
You'll receive a 10% discount toward class materials in the shop.
- School of Sewing by Shea Henderson, book
- Sewing pins
- All purpose cotton or polyester thread
- Basic Sewing Tools: Fabric scissors, thread snips, marking tool and seam ripper. (We have these on hand to borrow during class but it's helpful to have your own for homework and sewing at home.)
- Sewing machine in good working order. Much like driving, we find it’s best to learn on what machine you have available to you! Please be sure to bring the foot pedal, power cord, machine manual, and all accessories. If you do not have your own sewing machine you may rent one during class for an additional fee.
Your teacher will email a supply list for your first project and what to expect a week prior to the class start date.
*Rent a sewing machine during all class sessions for a $20 fee. Choose the option of class + materials when signing up*
Disclaimers:
* This class is designed for age 16+
* Cancellation Notice: We kindly ask that makers give a minimum 1 week notice of cancellation for class credit/reschedule and a 2 week cancellation notice for full refund. This advance notice will allow us to make any necessary adjustments to our schedule and accommodate other makers.
Refunds: Class cancellations made with a 2 week notice or more will either receive a full refund on a gift card, or a full refund minus the $5 card processing fee to the card that was used to purchase the class registration. This fee accounts for the costs associated with the transaction and ensures a smooth and secure refund process. Multi-week courses fill more slowly and a 72 hour notice (current single class policy) is not enough time to fill an empty spot.
